Forever35's Top Pick Lipsticks
A lot of legendary lippies have been mentioned on Forever35, so we put all our faves in one place. From a Sephora favorite to a color endorsed by Huma Abedin, read on to find Kate, Doree, and guests' top lip picks.
Three separate guests have recommended the Sephora Cream Lip Stain as their number one red. Amy Spalding (episode 16), Mary HK Choi (episode 13), and Jasmine Guillory (episode 4) all remark on the lip stains stay-all-day power and flattering color on all skin tones. The Forever35 Facebook group even started a thread to show how universally pretty the color is in real life.
Burberry Kisses Lipstick, Sephora, $34
In episode 16, Amy Spalding proved she wasn't shy about getting a good lipstick recommendation. When she saw Huma Abedin wearing a lovely red, she asked Huma for the lipstick specifics. The fact that Huma replied with the exact brand and lip color without a second thought leads us to believe this is a go-to. Amy also loves the color, feel, and luxe packaging of this creamy lip.
Ruby Woo has been a red lip staple for years and Mary H K Choi sings its praises in episode 13. A great option if you want a classic red, this goes on smooth and lasts all day without transfer.
Jenny Han (Episode 10) recommended the Korean beauty brand 3CE and especially likes the Love Glossy line in Red Muse. The coverage is lighter than the other reds, so it's great if you want a pop of color but a more subtle look. Plus, the finish is super glossy, without any sticky feel.
3CE Studio Velvet Lip Cream & Pencil, Amazon, $12
The velvet lip cream and pencil from 3CE is another Jenny Han fave. Though the color reads red, it's a deeper hue with a slight brown undertone. The pencil helps the color stay put while the cream gives a strong color with just a touch of gloss. Plus, the set is $12, so it's one of the more affordable picks.
This Tom Ford lip color was a splurge for Doree (as told in episode 7), but she loves it. The color is a beautiful pink with a slight purple undertone and it feels wonderful to wear. If you want to feel extra luxe, this lipstick is worth a try.
In Episode 12, Anna Yurchyshyn gave out tons of makeup tips, including this beautiful pink by Charlottle Tilbury. The color is a lovely rose-mauve that's flattering on all skin tones. The creamy texture feels great and stays in place, making it a good choice when you want a strong color that doesn't dominate your look.
Maybelline SuperStay 24 (Forever Chestnut), Target, $8
In Episode 9, Priyanka Mattoo shared her love of Maybelline SuperStay 24. This drugstore product dries quickly without drying your lips out and it really does stay in place (though 24 hours is a bit of an exaggeration). At the moment, Priyanka's favorite color Sienna Ever After is hard to find, but Forever Chestnut is a very close match.
Kulap Vilaysack in episode 8 was the first to bring up the joys of Bite Beauty Lipstick. She favors the rich brown tone of Molasses, while guest Anna Yurchyshyn prefers deep mauve color of Rhubarb. Whichever color you choose, the creamy lipstick feels light, is highly pigmented, and doesn't transfer.
