Doree Shafrir

Doree Shafrir is a writer and podcaster. In addition to Forever35, she also co-hosts the Matt and Doree's Eggcellent Adventure podcast with her husband, Matt.

Her first novel, Startup, was published by Little, Brown in 2017, and her memoir, Thanks for Waiting, was published by Ballantine in 2021.

She was a senior writer for BuzzFeed News and was on staff at Rolling Stone, the New York Observer, Gawker, and Philadelphia Weekly, and has contributed to publications including the New York Times, The New Yorker, Slate, and Wired.

She lives in LA with her husband, son, and dog.

Elise Hu

Elise Hu is a Los-Angeles based journalist, podcast host and author who reported for NPR for more than a decade, and worked as a TV correspondent for VICE News Tonight. In addition to co-hosting Forever35, she’s the host of TED Talks Daily and Accenture's Built for Change. 

As an international correspondent, she reported from more than a dozen countries and opened NPR’s first-ever Seoul bureau in 2015.  Her experiences in Seoul inspired her debut non-fiction book, Flawless: Lessons in Looks and Culture from the K-Beauty Capital. Prior to NPR, Elise helped found the nonprofit digital startup, The Texas Tribune

She’s an honors grad of the University of Missouri-Columbia Journalism school, the co-founder of the podcast production company Reasonable Volume, and a mom of three human daughters and two animal sons.
