Kate Spencer: I know if, if anything sounds weird, dearest listeners it's because I am recording from a hotel room on my iPhone, iPad I'm doing things a little differently, but yes, I'm in the big city, Doree <laugh> and it feels good to be here.
Doree Shafrir: How is the city that never sleeps?
Kate Spencer: Well, you know, I didn't sleep last night. I had raging insomnia. Like it was truly, uh, a roller coaster. I haven't had one of these nights in a while. I will tell you, I took myself out to a lovely Italian dinner. And at the end, at the end of the dinner, I was like, may I please have a decaf Americano?
Doree Shafrir: Oh No.
Kate Spencer: And at, around like three in the morning, I started to panic that maybe they gave me a caffeinated Americano because I was, I was wide awake and I'm also jet lagged. I've only been here a couple days. So I am still on Pacific standard time. So I've already been going to bed kind of late by New York standards because I'm still, you know, lined up with Los Angeles. But last night I got about three and a half hours of sleep. So, yeah. So quite literally I am the big apple.
Doree Shafrir: Wow.
Kate Spencer: Yeah. Wow. Yeah. But I will say in that long stretch of, you know, the dark night of my soul last night, I was able to finish a book and I freaking loved it. And so I wanna just give it the forever 35 hardy seal of approval.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. What is it? What is it?
Kate Spencer: Okay. Not that this person needs an introduction. It's Emily Henry. Who's a New York times bestselling author. Previous books are beach read and people we meet on vacation. Well, I just got to read book lovers, which comes out very soon. Possibly even this week, I've got a double check. I think it's may eighth. When it comes out. I can't, I can't remember off the top of my head. I apologize. It's so good. It's it's so, I Loved it. I loved it so much that like,
Doree Shafrir: Wow. Okay.
Kate Spencer: In the midst of reading it, I was just like, I love this so much that even if like it takes a turn and I stop loving it, I'll still love it, but it didn't take a turn. It's fantastic. It's just, it's so great. It's such a, it's so great. I'm obsessed with it.
Doree Shafrir: Wow. Okay.
Kate Spencer: Like as a writer and as a reader, like the, I was just like, she just nailed it. She just nailed it. She hit it out of the park. It's just an absolutely lovely story. Romance story. That's about so more than, and it's just, Ugh. Mm. Doree recommend.
Doree Shafrir: Wow. What is the premise? Can you, can you give us a little synopsis?
Kate Spencer: Sure. So it's basically, um, I don't wanna give too much away, but a literary agent finds herself in a small North Carolina town that one of her clients' books is based on. And while she's there, she runs into the very handsome editor who she tried to sell this book to a few years prior and he passed and he was, he was kind of like grumpy and standoffish in their one meeting about this book. And the world has brought them together in this town. And I mean, look, it is a romance. So I don't need to tell you where this is going, but it just, this book has so much heart. It's, it's very like, it's hot. Like it's just their, their love is just, I, I just, I don't know. I could go on and on. I just thought it was really lovely. The, she deals with a lot of things too, with the characters, just about kind of like, you know, like finding everything I say is gonna sound so trite. Just read this book, just read it. It's just so wonderfully executed and so good.
Doree Shafrir: Wow. All right, Kate,
Doree Shafrir: I know. I haven't gone this nuts for a book in a while during
Doree Shafrir: You. You are, you are gushing. You are,
Kate Spencer: It's a, it's a, it's a gush book. It's a deserving of a gush. Yeah. And I, I like her other books. Her other books are great. And this one just, it was like this one just soared, like an Eagle into my heart.
Doree Shafrir: Wow.
Kate Spencer: Okay. I know, I know this is what three and a half hours of sleep sounds like, but yeah. So that's my hearty recommendation. Um, I loved it so freaking much. I wanna, like, I could start it again tonight. That kind of book, you know what I mean?
Doree Shafrir: Wow Okay.
Kate Spencer: I'm gonna calm down. I'm gonna calm down.
Doree Shafrir: Kate. I have also recently read, um, a book that I really, really, really liked.
Kate Spencer: Okay. Did you post this on Instagram cuz I'm pretty sure I wanna read this.
Doree Shafrir: I did. Okay. I sure did.
Kate Spencer: tell the world.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Um, it's called counterfeit. It's by, uh, Kirsten Chen who has written two other books that I have not read. This is her first, the first book of hers that I have read. Um, the description of the book is hustler's meets big little lies.
Kate Spencer: Okay. Already on board.
Doree Shafrir: So already I was like, okay, I'm on board. But then I read it and I was like, oh yeah. So the, the broad strokes, um, it is about a corporate lawyer who is on a break to raise her toddler in. She lives in San Francisco and she gets, uh, uh, a college, a former college roommate reaches out to her and this college roommate is involved in some shady ass shit.
Kate Spencer: Yeah.
Doree Shafrir: And, um, it's all about the industry of counterfeit luxury handbags.
Kate Spencer: Ooh.
Doree Shafrir: And it's just, it takes place in the bay area, but then also in China and like, it's, I don't wanna say too much more about the plot because I don't wanna give anything away, but it's, it's really great. Really enjoyed it. It's it's also just like a fun read. Um, and it's out on June 7th. So it's out in about, in a little more than a month. So Kate, I think you will. I think you will love it. I think our listeners will love it. Especially those who like me are into, you know, all the mysteries, the crime fiction, if you will,
Kate Spencer: Everybody else who has a little detective hat on out there.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. Everyone who puts on their little detective hat and just goes to work. like Me every day.
Kate Spencer: You know what? I miss you. I miss you.
Doree Shafrir: I miss you too.
Kate Spencer: Okay. So let's, let's just get into one more important thing that you got to celebrate this weekend, which is the, Birth of your son
Doree Shafrir: The third birthday of my young son, Henry, by the time this airs, it will have been a week out. Um, but yeah, I mean, we had a birthday party for him,
Kate Spencer: With other kids. Like this is like kids, kids first, like kind of kid party.
Doree Shafrir: It was a, it was a kid party. And actually like a, like, you know, he we've been to parties of other kids from his class, but they were either like in the parents, like at their house or, you know, outside at a par, this was like at a place. And you know, there was like a table where they sat and had their birthday cake and it was just like really sweet. I got him a cake that looked that was decorated, like a clock
Kate Spencer: Because he loves telling time.
Doree Shafrir: He Loves time. He loves clocks. He got so many clock themed gifts.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> Doree
Doree Shafrir: Shockingly, no one like no duplicates.
Kate Spencer: Did he get a grandfather clock? Did someone come and get a grandfather clock? He
Doree Shafrir: Did. That would be amazing. He did not get a grandfather clock. He did get a stopwatch.
Kate Spencer: Ooh, that's a fun gift.
Doree Shafrir: He got, um, this, like he got a couple of clocks where he could change the hands, which was very exciting for him. Cause he didn't really have one like that yet. I think he had a lot of fun. The kids seemed to all have a lot of fun. We did it at this like, um, place. We, well, I'll just name the place because if you're in LA and you have a small child, this is, it's a great place. It's called. Imaginology kids it's in silver lake. It's like this space where they have all these like stem activities. Um, and like all the kids just like loved it. Wow. They loved it. Yeah. It was very cool. Um, so yeah, so that was, that was his party. He had a great time. He opened all his gifts at, at home and
Kate Spencer: I'm glad do got to celebrate too because you know, his first birthday was in, COVID like major lockdown. His second birthday still locked down. Like,
Doree Shafrir: Yeah, we had a small for second birthday. We had a small like park gathering. His second birthday was, you know, it was in that sort of heady time. Oh. Like people had started to get vaccines. Like everyone was like excited for hot vaccine summer. Right. You know, was no
Kate Spencer: We weren't thinking about variants
Doree Shafrir: No, there were no breakthrough infections.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> oh,
Doree Shafrir: So yeah. His second birthday was it? I wouldn't say it was, you know, normal, but it definit really felt a lot more optimistic than his first birthday, which was just like, we did a zoom. Right.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> I remember that
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. And, and this really did, I mean, you know, masks were optional. I would say at least half the people there were wearing them. I kind of like took mine on and off. Um, and yeah, it felt, but it definitely felt more sort of normal, Which was super fun.
Kate Spencer: I'm glad, I'm glad that you got to experience that.
Doree Shafrir: Thank you.
Kate Spencer: And I'm glad Henry did too.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. Yeah. I think, I think he, like, I think by the end he was like, it was probably half for his age. It was probably half an hour too long.
Kate Spencer: It's exhausting. Like I am exhausted after a party.
Doree Shafrir: It could have been half an hour shorter. Um, but it was two hours and I, I think like it could have been an hour and a half and like we all would've been good. Um, but it was, I mean, it was fine.
Kate Spencer: It was fine. Hmm. Well you have a three year old now
Doree Shafrir: I have a freaking three year old and you know what? I was awakened this morning by the call of mama mama. And, and like, I finally went in, like I didn't go in right away. Cause like, he didn't seem that agitated, you know? Right.
Kate Spencer: Shouting, shouting out
Doree Shafrir: He's just shouting. And then I Came I went in, I finally went to his room And he, he was crying. Oh. And I was like, oh bud. He wanted a party hat that was on the floor.
Kate Spencer: Oh. To be three.
Doree Shafrir: And I was like, okay, all right. That's this is what we're dealing with now.
Kate Spencer: Uhhuh, Uhhuh.
Doree Shafrir: This is what we're dealing with. Okay. Right. Just so we're all aware. Yeah. Yeah.
Kate Spencer: We're on the same page. You gotta put that party hat
Doree Shafrir: All On the same page. Okay. Well, should we take a little break?
Kate Spencer: Let's take a pause. And when we come back, you're gonna teach us about getting dressed for tennis.
Doree Shafrir: I can't wait.
Kate Spencer: I'm very excited.
Doree Shafrir: BRB.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Hello everybody. We have returned. We have a text, a question for the pod. What is Doree wearing for all these tennis court appearances, skirt dress visor. How are the bangs contained?
Kate Spencer: These are great questions. How are the bangs contained? Do you have an ankle sock or a long, a high sock what's going on? Okay.
Doree Shafrir: All right. So I do typically like to wear a tennis skirt.
Kate Spencer: Can I ask a question about tennis skirts? Yes. Are they like skorts?
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. They, I mean, most of them, the ones I have all have like a little, little shorts underneath. They're very short. So, I mean, I guess you could wear one without the shorts, but it would be extremely short. Um, so yeah, so I usually wear a tennis skirt because it's like, I find them to be like the, um, it's very airy to have a tennis skirt on
Kate Spencer: Sounds nice.
Doree Shafrir: You know? Yeah. It's nice. And then I have a bunch of short sleeve just sort of like athletic Tops.
Kate Spencer: Okay. I guess, guess it's cute.
Doree Shafrir: I think thats the best Way to describe them. Here's the thing. If I were playing, not in the sun, I would wear a tank top, but the sun is too intense for me to play in a tank top.
Kate Spencer: You need that like full coverage.
Doree Shafrir: I need that shoulder coverage and that back coverage and yeah, it's just like, it's, it's, it's just too much sometimes if I would, like, if I play at night sometimes, and it's not cold, I will wear a tank top, but I generally am wearing like a short sleeve shirt. Um, and then I have some like quarter, I guess they're quarter length socks.
Kate Spencer: Okay.
Doree Shafrir: Um, they're not like, they're not like ankle socks, but are not like knee socks.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> do you know what I always think of when it comes to tennis, those socks with pompoms on the heel. Do you remember those?
Doree Shafrir: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I do remember those. So my tennis shoes kind of like the back, the back kind of comes up a little bit higher. Mm-hmm <affirmative> and so ankle don't provide enough coverage.
Kate Spencer: We need to go tall.
Doree Shafrir: I need to go taller, but I have, I have, I did once get some tennis socks that go sort of halfway at my calf and I find those to be too tall
Kate Spencer: I bet that's cute. That sounds very stylish with a tall sock.
Doree Shafrir: Well, I was influenced by a woman that I play with who was always wearing those and looked very cute with her shorts and her, you know, half calf length socks. And then I was like, I'm not comfortable With this.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> and what's on your head.
Doree Shafrir: Um, I usually wear, um, do they have a, a word I'm trying figure out if there's like a, um, it's like a, like a, like a tennis hat. <laugh> I dunno. It's like a Nike. Um,
Kate Spencer: I can imagine what you mean, like a little baseball cap.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah, but it's not a baseball cap cuz it's not, it's not cotton. It's made of like, right.
Kate Spencer: It's like a running like a running hat,
Doree Shafrir: Like a running hat. Exactly.
Kate Spencer: I follow it's made of synthetic material that dries quickly.
Doree Shafrir: Yes. That's exactly right
Kate Spencer: Now. Most that is Most important part of this question is how are the bang contained?
Doree Shafrir: So the bang are just kind of like swept under the hat. <affirmative>
Kate Spencer: That seems like very straightforward and easy. There's no like thing of the bang.
Doree Shafrir: No, I don't need to because I'm wearing the hat
Doree Shafrir: The hat does everything.
Doree Shafrir: The hat takes care of it all. And I need the hat. Oh I can't. Because of the aforementioned,
Kate Spencer: are you In a sunglass as well? Or are you not a sunglasses?
Doree Shafrir: Okay. I am not in a sunglass. I find the sunglasses. Like I get too Sweaty. You know, I have thought about possibly getting like a pair of like prescription Oakley, like sporty sunglasses. I've thought about that.
Kate Spencer: Have you ever Tried gooder sunglasses?
Doree Shafrir: I have not pulled the trigger.
Kate Spencer: Those are my favorite and they're running sunglasses and I, but I wear them just like every day I run, but I, I wear them all the time. They're like 25, 30 bucks. They're they're they, they might work for you, but they're not prescription. So I see the desire to have your own little lens in there. That makes sense to me.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. If I'm wearing the sunglasses, I like to wear my prescription sunglasses.
Kate Spencer: Got it. Well, you sound like you're stylish and practical on the court.
Doree Shafrir: Well, thank you. And then I do, I do have a special pair of, um, Tennis shoes
Kate Spencer: Oh yeah. I bet you do. <laugh> no, you just move serious. I know. I sound like I'm being seriously. You need like a flat tennis shoe.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. And, but it also something supportive
Kate Spencer: Now and this bugs me about the part of our country. That calls sneakers tennis shoes. It drives me. Yes.
Doree Shafrir: I was just thinking about that.
Kate Spencer: Cause we don't come from that land. Yeah. We call them sneakers.
Doree Shafrir: No. Well, because I was like, I wanna clarify for those people who call all sneakers tennis shoes, these are actual tennis shoes.
Kate Spencer: I just don't understand that. You know?
Doree Shafrir: Uh, I mean it's like the whole pop,
Kate Spencer: So I get it. It's the roundabout rotary, all that stuff. Like why
Doree Shafrir: Look, I don't know. I think it is real confusing.
Kate Spencer: Yeah. And so like let's not call water fountains, bubblers, everybody. Basically what I'm saying is use all the words that we specifically use in the Metro west Boston area. I just wanna keep it simple for me selfishly. Yeah. Right.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. I, I
Kate Spencer: Agree. They're called rotaries. I called rotaries.
Doree Shafrir: They are a hundred percent called rotaries.
Kate Spencer: All right. Well, uh, Doree, thank you for sharing all that info. I would love to like just a tennis outfit. Pick like a fit check. You know how all the, the Youngs do?
Doree Shafrir: Oh sure. Mm-hmm <affirmative> you want me to do a tennis fit check?
Kate Spencer: Kinda. I kinda wanna see a tennis fit check.
Doree Shafrir: You know what, Kate? I would do a tennis fit check. I just don't have. And this is what stops me from posting more like, you know what I'm wearing stuff is like, I don't have a good place in my house to like really?
Kate Spencer: I know you need to be able to like model.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. So sorry, everyone. All
Kate Spencer: Right. That's check will have to wait. That's fair. <laugh>
Doree Shafrir: Um, if I can figure something else out, I will.
Kate Spencer: All right.
Doree Shafrir: All right. Well, Kate, we have a voicemail. Shall we listen
Kate Spencer: To? Yes. We're about to get educated.
Speaker 3: Hey, Kate and Doree and the forever35 team Um, I paused the pod yesterday, but then the outage was I couldn't in, um, I couldn't in to say that you can hack iphone your to, of out office, um, if contacted, um, and it's not perfect, but what you do is you go into settings and then you go to focus and the driving focus, um, which is people use it when they're driving their car and wanna send an automated message, their contact, or to certain contact to let them know like I'm driving. I can't respond to your text. Um, you can just turn on that driving time. You want, um, and you can have an auto reply that gets sent. Um, and your auto reply can say, um, whatever you want to can say, I'm not checking text messages this week, or like, call me if you need to get in touch with me or whatever it's. Um, but I just wanted, let you know, there is that hack. Um, and yeah. Thanks for all. You do talk you later. Bye.
Doree Shafrir: Oh yeah. You have that on.
Kate Spencer: Do I have it on <laugh>? I don't even know. Okay, good.
Doree Shafrir: Oh really?
Kate Spencer: I mean, cool. You know, it used to like, it used to pop up in your text message when your little like I'm driving re reply came, but now I don't see it. I should go in and check. I have no idea. I have no idea what's on and what's not on, on my phone. Like I didn't realize it was on.
Doree Shafrir: Oh, interesting. I mean, maybe it's not on anymore. I just remember it being,
Kate Spencer: I know I used to have it on. I'm gonna go look, I'm gonna go look after this honestly, and go see. Cause I love, I love this idea too. And I even like just being able to like curate your away message for when you're driving, because it's so stiff and formal, the one that they give you.
Doree Shafrir: Mm.
Kate Spencer: This made me think of something Doree. Yeah. That is not at all related to iPhones, but is a hack that I did this week. When I traveled. May I share it quickly?
Doree Shafrir: Yes, please.
Kate Spencer: You can mobile order at a lot of airport Starbucks. So you can avoid the crazy lines at the airport Starbucks, or you can order on your way to the airport. You can order from the security line. It makes it so much better.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Wait, I have a question. Is this a new thing? Because I feel like you were not always able to mobile order at a airport. Starbucks.
Kate Spencer: I think I first noticed this like a few months ago I traveled to Seattle and that might have been when I first saw, like, I saw that they had a sign and it was like, you can mobile order. So instead of waiting in the line, I just mobile ordered and got my food that way. And then this time I looked and I, what I do is I look ahead and check to see if there's a Starbucks in my terminal. And if it's a mobile order and then like this week I placed the order. Like as soon as I got to the airport. So you've gotta double check because not every airport Starbucks has mobile ordering, but just a hot tip. Avoid those lines, baby.
Doree Shafrir: Yeah. That's a great tip.
Kate Spencer: All right. Let's uh, knock out one more voicemail here.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Let's do it.
Speaker 4: Hi cat and dor I am calling because I appreciated so much you talking about just the value of taking a nap to, I am a stay at home parent of young boys, and I don't know about you guys, but the pandemic absolutely wrecked me. I have just felt so tired. I'm 35. And recently I went to the doctor just to get like a full panel of blood work taken just to make sure I was even OK. Cause I felt so fatigued. Everything came back normal. And I think the moral of the story is I'm allowed to be tired. And I have been recently giving myself permission, um, my littlest is two and still takes an afternoon nap and days where I feel like I'm caught up on generally things in the house. I think it's okay to take a nap. Um, and even days where I'm not always caught up, like if my body is needing it, you know, the end of the story now is I'm treating myself to that. I deserve it. And usually I wake up from the nap, refreshed and ready to tackle, you know, picking up my oldest and making dinner and playing outside and running to sports practice and you know, bedtime routines and all of that. Um, so I don't know if you have any kind of flexibility and your schedule, obviously those of you working from home, aren't gonna be able to, or working, um, away from the home. Aren't gonna be able to do it. But if you can, I totally think that you should do it. And in fact, when I hang up, I'm gonna do just that right now. <laugh> so good night. Um, and thank you guys so much for your podcast. I love you both.
Doree Shafrir: I mean,
Kate Spencer: Yes. Normalize being tired That stuck with me
Doree Shafrir: Normalize being tired.
Kate Spencer: All right. Wow. Time to hear from some spons.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. B R B. All right. I just wanna say, I love that this conversation about nose pimples is just ongoing.
Kate Spencer: Oh, it's nonstop. I mean, it's, it's really non Stop. Who knew
Doree Shafrir: It's really been a journey like who knew the, there was,
Kate Spencer: I mean, who knew my mom, my mom knew there was a danger zone.
Doree Shafrir: Your Mom knew your mom knew.
Kate Spencer: You know, my mom was one of those people who like always had like a, a hand crank radio in the car. And like, she was a
Doree Shafrir: Bit of prepper,
Kate Spencer: A little bit of a prepper. She had prepper energy.
Doree Shafrir: I knew I liked her
Kate Spencer: Real prepper energy. And so I do feel like she, she knew something bad could happen with pimples in your nostril. You know, She had a hunch. Okay. Well, this listener wrote to us. I just wanted to add on to the recommendations for helping with pimples on the nose. My husband is an ear, nose and throat physician. And for recurrent pimples in the nose, he recommended trying to swab inside the nose with an antibiotic ointment. Like Bactriban will need a prescription. You are likely colonized with MSRA. That's what you say. Right? MSRA Mesa mm-hmm <affirmative>, which is why there are recurrent also don't stick sharp objects up your nose. I mean, that seems like good life advice.
Doree Shafrir: Okay.
Kate Spencer: Uh, all right. No tweezers in the nose. We hear you. We hear this listeners husband. All right. Well, Doree let's let's end on a crazy,
Kate Spencer: Um,
Doree Shafrir: Yeah, we have a, to a totally different totally and email. Um, all right. This listener writes,
New Speaker: I'm writing because I'm looking to find the perfect robe. I'm getting over a sinus infection and it's highlighting how I would love a good cozy robe. I hate the robe. I have. It was a gift that I did not pick out and it's time to cut it loose. It's way too heavy. Seriously, more than 10 pounds. It's actually too thick and heavy and tugs on my neck. Does anyone have the perfect robe recommendation? I want one that's long and cozy. Doesn't shed and plush, but not physically super heavy
Kate Spencer: Like Joseph in the technicolor dream code that says person's wearing <laugh> it's 10 pounds
Doree Shafrir: Is heavy. Okay. I, I, I have the answer. I have a,
Kate Spencer: I'm very curious what you're gonna say,
Doree Shafrir: Which is the robe that I have been wearing for years and years and years. And it is from restoration hardware.
Kate Spencer: Oh, this is fascinating. Okay. Continue a,
Doree Shafrir: They have a robe. I believe this is the Rob called the luxury plush long robe. And as they describe it, it is irresistibly soft yet lightweight. Our all season plush robe offers a sumptuous blanket of warmth
Kate Spencer: Sumptuous blanket of warmth. Okay. I mean, Sexy.
Doree Shafrir: I think this is exactly what this listener is looking for. I love this robe. I mean, I like people have given me other robes, I've gotten other robes, nothing compares to this robe. I'm telling you. They also make one in a shorter version called the luxury plush spa robe. But the luxury plush long robe I believe is what this listener is. Is, is
Kate Spencer: Your suggestion I think is better than my suggestion. OK. What is mine is the LL bean fleece robe. Now you have to get the, this specific fleece robe because I bought a different one from them and it is too heavy. And I know what this listener means by like, like I'm sweating in this one robe I have from them, but it is there. It's called their winter fleece robe, but I wear it year round in Los Angeles, California.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Wait, here's my question for you. This is not a robe that you like put on like after the shower.
Kate Spencer: No, this is a, lounging robe.
Doree Shafrir: Oh, okay. The restoration Harbor one is one that you put on after the shower.
Kate Spencer: Like cloth, or is it the kind that you,
Doree Shafrir: It is, it is Terry cloth adjacent. it is made of poly plush as they describe, but it is like,
Kate Spencer: And like you, you go in full wet or do you towel off first?
Doree Shafrir: I towel. I usually like towel off, put on my robe, put on my, um, Turby twist hair towel, and I go on my Merry way
Kate Spencer: That's so interesting. Okay.
Doree Shafrir: Now, so I, yeah, I love a bath robe now. I, I interpreted this, see, maybe this person doesn't want a bathrobe. Maybe they just want a cozy robing it
Kate Spencer: As a cozy robe, but now I'm now I'm unsure and I'm doubting myself. Well, we'll need them to, to let us know.
Doree Shafrir: Well, you know, restoration restoration hardware also has some lovely,
Kate Spencer: Well, you know, what's funny once my kid received personalized bath robes and they were from restoration hardware, and I remember being like, what restoration hardware?
Doree Shafrir: I know <laugh>
Kate Spencer: It's. So random. though they were, my kids loved these robes.
Doree Shafrir: They're really nice robes.
Kate Spencer: Who do you think at restoration hardware was like, let's make, um, like lighting fixtures and handles for dressers and then also robes. Great. Let's Like great robes, really good Robes. <laugh>
Doree Shafrir: I don't know, but I feel like their robes predate a lot of the other stuff that they're like known for. So yeah, I know. It's just very interesting. We're gonna need a rest.
Kate Spencer: What if there's an insider at restoration hardware, like a mole who wants to give us the scoop?
Doree Shafrir: If you are an insider if you are an RH insider.
Kate Spencer: Yeah. Talk to us. And then also like send us some lamps. Cause I can't afford anything at restoration hardware. So you Know we want some stuff. Well, Doree, this, you know what? I also would love listener robe recommendations because I will say the robe that I have now, which is the LL bean wicked plush, robe is so hot. I hate it. So I need, and I just haven't gotten around to rebuying the fleece robe that I like. So I need some, I might, I may, maybe I'll switch to a Restoration and I don't know. I'm pretty loyal to LL bean when it comes to robes, but Hmm. Well as always a treat and a pleasure to talk to you. <laugh>
Doree Shafrir: Likewise,
Kate Spencer: We have a blast on this podcast.
Doree Shafrir: We do. We really do. Um, Kate, well, enjoy the rest of your time in the city that never sleeps.
Kate Spencer: <laugh> thanks.
Doree Shafrir: Okay. Bye
